Skoda is using the latest version of its plug-in hybrid powertrain to electrify the new generation Kodiaq. It features a 110 kW (150 hp) 1.5 TSI engine that, together with an electric motor, delivers a system output of 150 kW (204 hp) and is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed DSG.

The new Skoda Kodiaq is more spacious, functional and efficient

The new-generation Kodiaq features a bonnet finished in matt Unique Dark Chrome, bearing the revised ŠKODA logo. It matches the frame of the hexagonal ŠKODA grille, which can optionally be illuminated with 14 light elements that form a light strip between the headlights. Below the grille is a large air intake framed by two Air Curtains. The elongated roofline has been aerodynamically optimised and slopes slightly towards the rear. The drag coefficient of the new Kodiaq has been reduced to cd = 0.282. Significant aerodynamic improvements have been made through optimised air management for engine and brake cooling, aerodynamically shaped exterior mirrors, redesigned front and rear bumpers, aerodynamic wheels, extended roof spoiler and integration of integrated longitudinal roof rails.

The rear compartment is characterised by a large and wide boot lid. The low loading sill provides great ease of use. The lettering for the new ŠKODA CI is positioned in the centre of the boot lid and is finished in Unique Dark Chrome matt. Below the boot lid is a large, redesigned rear spoiler with a wide, integrated diffuser. The complete D-pillar trim in Unique Dark Chrome is one of the first striking design elements of the new Kodiaq.

The all-new Kodiaq comes in a variety of design choices, in Selection and Sportline versions, as well as on large alloy wheels with diameters ranging from 17 to 20 inches. The basic version comes with 17-inch silver alloys. Skoda offers nine colour options for the large SUV model; two solid colours and a total of seven metallic paint finishes, including the new Bronx Gold Metallic.

New Volkswagen Tiguan

Volkswagen’s best-selling SUV, the all-new third-generation VW Tiguan, has been introduced. One of the most successful Volkswagen models, the Tiguan has sold more than 7.6 million units since its debut in 2007. The Tiguan has become a key model that sets standards in the C-SUV segment. The third generation of the VW Tiguan will roll off the Wolfsburg production line in autumn 2023 and go on sale in the first quarter of 2024.

VW Tiguan has been completely renewed

“The latest evolutionary stage of the modular transverse matrix (MQB evo) forms the highly innovative technical basis for the third Tiguan generation,” said Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen’s brand director for technical development. “Thanks to the great economies of scale of the MQB evo, Volkswagen is once again democratizing numerous high-tech developments, such as the DCC Pro or the new hybrid drives with an electric range of around 100 km, and making them available to hundreds of thousands of drivers.”

The new technological possibilities realised with the MQB evo improve the VW Tiguan in almost every area. The new hybrid drives with an all-electric range of around 100 km make the SUV more efficient than ever. In addition, AC charging will be faster in all eHybrid versions and DC fast charging will be standard for the first time. The clearly designed digital cockpit environment based on the new MIB4 (fourth-generation modular infotainment kit) integrates digital services and apps while providing a maximum of information. Operation is designed to be continuously self-explanatory. New features such as the pneumatic massage function for the front seats are also introduced. The “IQ.LIGHT – HD matrix headlights”, which are featured for the first time in the Tiguan, are derived from the luxury-class Touareg. The new adaptive suspension “DCC Pro” perfects comfort and dynamics. The new-generation “Parking Assist” automates parking and exiting.

The impressive design and improved aerodynamics of the new VW Tiguan

The compact SUV features a completely new design. The new VW Tiguan stands out with its powerful front end, featuring particularly flat LED headlights and a glass-covered crossbar. The radiator grille openings are now located in the outer bumper, where air curtains have been designed to ensure optimum airflow. The new front-end design underlines the reduction in the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.28.

Although the dimensions of the new Tiguan have not changed much, the new design looks quite different from the previous generation. The new Tiguan, which has a sporty SUV stance, exhibits a strong stance, especially at the front, thanks to the wide radiator grille in gloss black, large side air ducts and the bright chrome line located at the bottom of the front bumper. The design of the front headlights and the black grille between the headlights complement each other. As a result, the front appearance of the new Tiguan is quite ambitious and characteristic. Tiguan, Volkswagen’s successful representative in the C-SUV class, appears with a muscular design with more oval lines in its new generation.

The rear section has been inclined, giving the vehicle a sportier stance. In addition, the rear light cluster, which extends to the entire boot lid and the side rear fenders, enhances the perception of width in the form of a strip in the middle, which also includes the VW logo. Athletic shoulder areas above the wheel arches (with wheels up to 20 inches in size) characterise the silhouette. A new LED crossbar emphasises the distinctive rear section of the Tiguan.

Born 72 years ago on August 1, 1951 as the “Toyota BJ”, the Land Cruiser proved its power and durability shortly after its introduction by becoming the first vehicle to climb Mount Fuji 6th Station. Since the very beginning, Toyota has designed the Land Cruiser to transport passengers safely to their destinations, overcoming the most difficult conditions. The extraordinary experiences that Land Cruiser users from all over the world have every day continue to prove this. With over 11.3 million units sold in over 170 countries and regions, the Land Cruiser has become one of Toyota’s best-selling models.

The new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado combines a timeless design that clearly emphasizes its ability to cope with the most difficult conditions with a modern approach. The new Land Cruiser stands out with its “back to its roots” design language, while also drawing attention with its adventurous image. It provides much higher off-road performance with its sharpened front and rear corner lines and narrowed lower body. In addition, body parts are designed to be easily replaced in the event of damage.

The new model, which has the classic Land Cruiser silhouette in its exterior design, draws attention with its strong horizontal lines. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is 4,920 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,870 mm high. The wheelbase is 2,850 mm. The new Land Cruiser Prado can be preferred with five or seven seats, emphasizing functionality in the cabin. Land Cruiser Prado will continue to be offered for sale in Turkey as a seven-seater as in the current model. Thanks to the high driving position and improvements made to the visibility, the driver can always have control of the road.

New Land Cruiser Prado has powerful engine options

The engine options of the new Land Cruiser Prado also reflect Toyota’s strong and durable off-road driving conditions. The new model was introduced with one diesel and two gasoline engine options. The 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine, planned to be offered in the Turkish market, was designed to offer a strong balance between fuel efficiency and high performance. The 204 HP engine is paired with a new eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. The towing capacity of this engine was announced as 3,500 kg. Among the gasoline engine options, the new TNGA 2.4 turbo engine (279 HP) is paired with an eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission, providing a dynamic and powerful drive. The other gasoline engine option of the Land Cruiser Prado will be the 2.7-liter version with 163 HP.

No compromise on durability and performance

The new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado retains its classic and extremely durable separate chassis frame body structure, while the GA-F platform from the larger Land Cruiser 300 provides unparalleled off-road capability. The new model offers an enjoyable driving experience in everyday use thanks to its easy manoeuvring ability and functionality in tight spaces. In addition to the 50% increase in rigidity in the vehicle’s new frame, the combined rigidity of the body and frame has been increased by 30%, further improving ride comfort and road holding.

The new Land Cruiser Prado also features an electric power steering system (EPS) for the first time, minimising the impact felt when driving in difficult off-road conditions. It also provides more direct steering response and easy manoeuvring at all speeds.

Toyota bZ4X

Toyota presents an ambitious model in the fully electric world with the bZ4X

Toyota is bringing a new perspective to the world of zero-emission vehicles with its first all-new 100% electric model, the bZ4X. Under its bZ “Beyond Zero” sub-brand, Toyota is preparing to introduce a range of zero-emission models, starting with the bZ4X SUV.

Toyota bZ4X model built on 30 years of electric experience

Making statements at the press test drive of the fully electric model bZ4X, Toyota Turkey Marketing and Sales Inc. CEO Ali Haydar Bozkurt said, “Our new electric model stands out as the fruit of Toyota’s 30-year electric vehicle development efforts. Toyota’s fully electrics will once again be in a position to lead the segment with their high efficiency and unique battery usage guarantee.

Our brand continues to offer the most suitable solution alternatives on the road to carbon neutrality with its “Beyond Zero” strategy, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fully electric and fuel cell. With the acceleration of electrification studies, Toyota aims to sell 5.5 million electric vehicles per year globally by 2025. During this process, there will be 70 models in the product range, 15 of which will be zero-emission.

The new Beyond Zero sub-brand will further strengthen Toyota’s environmental leadership beyond just offering zero-emission vehicles. We will soon start to see the reflections of the brand’s multi-product strategy in Turkey. We are continuing our infrastructure preparations and will carry out our launch activities in Turkey depending on vehicle availability in Europe. We will further strengthen our product range with the BEV (100% electric) vehicles we will add to our product range. We will further increase the number of our hybrid customers, which exceed 62 thousand in Turkey today, with new zero-emission and low-emission models,” he said.

Toyota bZ4X specifications and performance

Toyota has produced powerful electric motors with high efficiency thanks to its many years of electric vehicle development work. It has also managed to maximize range with energy efficiency management. Toyota, which has put this experience into practice in the bZ4X model, offers front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive electric motor options in the bZ4X.

The front-wheel drive bZ4X is equipped with a 150 kW electric motor that provides rapid responses. The vehicle, which produces 204 PS and 266 Nm of torque, will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and have a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

The all-wheel drive bZ4X is equipped with 80 kW motors at the front and rear. With a maximum power of 218 PS and a torque of 337 Nm, the all-wheel drive bZ4X accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The use of the front and rear motors has been adjusted to make average power consumption more efficient. In low-torque driving, it only uses the front motors for power.

The Toyota bZ4X model features the X-MODE feature, which is the first in the market for an all-electric SUV and offers class-leading off-road capability. It has Grip Control driving modes below 20 km/h in heavy snow/mud conditions and below 10 km/h in more intense off-road driving. This allows the bZ4X to achieve the best traction in all road conditions and continue on its way. While the driver focuses on steering, the vehicle adjusts its speed uphill, downhill or on flat surfaces. The driver can also use Hill Descent Assist Control when going downhill. The Toyota bZ4X also has a durable waterproof battery and a water fording depth of 500 mm.

The bZ4X is Toyota’s first model built on its new electric vehicle architecture, the e-TNGA. The all-new architecture offers flexibility that could be used in future bZ models. The e-TNGA platform positions the battery under the chassis, resulting in a lower center of gravity, ideal front/rear weight balance and higher body rigidity.
